To those who perceive the need to unite only people who are labeled as “Black” descendants of Africa - and to exclude people you identify as being of different colors, races and/or geological roots:
I understand that people have suffered and continue to suffer mistreatment and abuse by people who are ignorant of the reciprocal effects of their action. In fact, a full review of human history will reveal that, in ignorance, people of every color, geological location and culture suffered enslavement and/or other forms of racial abuse at some point in our evolution.
There is nothing "wrong" with feeling the need to unite those who are currently being projected as descendants of African people. In fact, you are focused exactly as you "should" be given what you know about history and how you identify yourself now. Because you continue to repeat the events in history that cause you to feel anger, resentment etc. against people with different racial and/or cultural labels - it's only "right" that you "should" want to surround yourselves with only “your people” in your efforts to improve your perception of self worth and get ahead in the world.
However, the totality of those currently having a life experience is the leading edge of creation, and in the moment of Now we are always projecting for our individual and shared future by the thoughts we choose to follow.
Specifically, every thought is a prayer for the future that is constantly being created Now, and our emotion guides us as to whether we are asking for anything that we actually want to create. Thus, if we are following and verbalizing thoughts that evoke feelings of resentment, anger, etc., we are creating more of what we do not like.
From the mind’s delusional thought patterns, the idea that anyone can be oppressed by external forces is born, and we perceive the need to unite and favor people who represent a particular culture, geological area, and especially skin color in order to push back against our “oppressors”. We are drawn into this mindset because the ego depends on consistent conflict to create a sense of importance for the self image.
To keep conflict and the egoistic sense of victimhood alive, the mind grips to the past and projects future scenarios based on what is already known. In every moment that we believe the mind conceived reality, we are unconscious to the Self that is merely using our human identity as a vehicle to experience and create this time-space reality.
Because we are conditioned to live in the ego, we are largely unaware of our true identity; and from our misidentification, we are only capable of creating more conflict. While certain groups of people tend to have a sense of superiority over another for a time, conflict eventually turns the tide, the villains become victims again, and we continue to play our preprogrammed roles until we transcend the underlying mental patterns that have been commanding our awareness and creating our disturbances.
In reality, we are not the body, the mind or any label (such as African) created through our misidentification with Self. Each individual has total creative power in our own right, but that power can only be realized through awareness that penetrates mind and connects with the deeper self that knows exactly how to create the reality we want to experience.
When we release our attachment to victimhood, we realize there is no one to blame for our experience of life; and when there is no one to blame we can accept total responsibility for that which disturbs us. Acceptance is the key to global transformation because in the moment we realize that our experience is only a reflection of our being, we can forgive ourselves for the pain we have caused ourselves, and thereby dissolve the mental patterns that keep us bound to delusion and dis-ease.
However, as long as we seek to separate ourselves from any of our fellow human beings, we remain bound to what is known, and progress toward unity at the level of heart is unlikely. For instance, in the illusion of separation, we demand legislation and corporate policies that mandate “fair” treatment by other people - as if people can be forced to accept one another.
As for culture, I understand the drive to preserve that which appears to be lost, but culture is not limited to a particular skin color or descendent group. In fact, I have heard of groups who are identified as being predominantly "white" enjoying native African dance - and rediscovering African culture as part of their practice.
Many of us are now being “born” of mixed cultures, and that is fantastic because when we can no longer identify with any single racial or cultural label, we may feel free to practice the culture(s) that sing to our soul - while embracing all others. From this perspective we are preserving history while simultaneously projecting for the peace and unity that is the birthright of all beings.
When we direct the ego to answer only to our real self (despite everything we "know"), we can begin to see and understand our destiny, and create it accordingly. All beings are hereby invited to unite in the experience of complete harmony that is only available through understanding that we are all One.
